TalentWave is the new brand for the combined operations of independent contractor compliance/payrolling firms ICon Professional Services and Synergy Services.

ICon acquired Synergy in October. The merger is now complete, and the combined company unveiled the new brand today.

“In our first six months together, we have integrated our back-office systems and expanded our solutions portfolio to better serve our clients, contractors and partners,” TalentWave CEO Teresa Creech said. “Our company lives at the center of the contingent workforce ecosystem and makes it possible for our clients and partners to gain flexibility and grow their businesses through the talent, passion, and expertise of independent workers. The new TalentWave brand was designed to reflect these market forces and the exciting role we play in the middle of it.”

Name and logo references will be migrated to the TalentWave brand from the ICon and Synergy (front and back office systems, contracts, paychecks, etc.) over the next 12 months. The company said the rebranding will not have an impact on services that clients currently receive, and current login credentials are not changing. All contracts and agreements will still be in effect.

New clients of TalentWave will move to a standardized solution platform, and TalentWave is leveraging the best of both legacy companies. Legacy clients will be slowly and carefully migrated over to ensure no lapses in services.

The rebranding will also not impact contractor relationships with ICon or Synergy.

In addition, TalentWave reported the combination of the companies will help further expand partner relationships. “We will continue to strengthen and deepen our MSP relationships while expanding into new channel partner relationships throughout the human capital ecosystem.”

ICon was founded in 1997 and Synergy Services was founded in 1991. Private equity firm Serent Capital acquired a majority stake in ICon in March 2015.

The combined company is headquartered in Foster City, Calif., and its North American Operations Center is in Denver.
